Community Outreach
Client, Borough of Collingswood, NJ
Project highlights: SLK Partners has conducted a comprehensive outreach program on behalf of Collingswood for several capital and alternative transportation projects to gain endorsement from residents, visitors, and businesses. Since first contracting in 2016, SLK has successfully designed and implemented community outreach plans for several public projects including the NJDOT's Safe Routes to Schools project, Connect 2020 alternative transportation project, and the new Collingswood Joint Public Safety Building. SLK assessed the community perception and developed an appropriate outreach plan for each project. Plans included the development of surveying, public forums, presentations, site tours, direct mail, digital media, and media relations for each of the projects. SLK takes pride in going above and beyond for stakeholder and community engagement not only because it is necessary for community buy-in, but also protects the client from costly project delays and potential litigation. The benefits of a great community outreach plan was recently demonstrated by a court case against the borough where a plaintiff was seeking a stop-work order as a neighbor indicating they were not notified of the project. SLK was able to work with the Borough to provide extensive documentation which detailed the executed outreach plan and the case was dismissed by the courts.
Annual Reports/Meetings
Client: Cooper’s Ferry Partnership, Camden, NJ
Project Highlights: Since 2017, SLK Partners has developed a dynamic annual report and provided annual meeting event and public relations services for Cooper’s Ferry Partnership, an economic development agency located in the City of Camden. The scope of work included researching and compiling project impact data and community benefits analysis for a wide variety of organizations and projects throughout the City of Camden including transportation, health care, higher education, neighborhood and non-profit organizations, tourism, and arts and culture. From the data collected SLK authored and designed a 70+ page annual report highlighting projects and initiatives throughout with a series of engaging stories, beautiful photographs, and other features that captured the essence of positive momentum and hope in a city long impacted by poverty, crime, and economic decline. In addition to the report, SLK assisted with event planning aspects including multi-media materials, putting together an engaging panel of speakers, video production, onsite signage, and venue design for the annual event which draws 400+ attendees each year.
